Easter eggs of persistence
just a little warmth from nature to you
Hey friends.
I’m well aware there’s an abundance of horrific news in the world right now — and well over half the country blanketed in the remnants of a massive snowstorm — but that’s not why I’m here. I don’t need to add to the cacophony.
I only wanted to pop in and say, my favorite thing to do on these frigid days is to bring treats to my wild friends. Somehow, knowing they are getting a little extra sustenance to help them through the cold snaps, warms my insides.
So, in case you’re buried, literally or figuratively or both, here are some images to warm you, too.
Every little bit of kindness helps. I believe this with all my heart. I hope you know that includes your little kindnesses, whatever they may be.
A cock-eyed Titmouse…
A squirrel in their perch with a sweetgum peanut butter ball…
Someone enjoying a peanut butter pine cone…
A plucky Flicker…
A Cardinal and a White-throated Sparrow contemplating sharing…
And my favorite of all: a rat who got a nibble.
Always, nature hides these glorious easter eggs of persistence, waiting to be noticed. Maybe you’ll find some of your own.
May you be warm, safe, well nourished. May you know you’re never truly alone.
with love,
Phoenix

This is such a welcome balm. Happy critters!!! Thank you. And I have a a basket of pinecones I've either gathered over time or been given to me by kiddos. What is a healthy safe snack using pinecones for wild critters? And thank you, so much!
Just thank you, thank you so much 🙏❄️🙏
